Martin is a qualified barrister, chartered insurance practitioner and civil engineering technician and has worked within the insurance claims industry since 1980. He first joined Hibernian Insurance, then Aston and Associates in 1990 as the Kilkenny Branch Manager, being invited to join the board of Astons in 1996 taking the role of Managing Director in 2000, before leaving to form ProAdjust in January 2004.

Specialising in commercial property losses, serious incidents, professional negligence, liability claims, oil spillage and contamination and complex liability and building contact claims, Martin has worked on several major loss cases, including the Buncefield oil explosion case in the UK, the National Aquatic Centre / Campus and Stadium Ireland Ltd and several large fires within Ireland.

Martin has also represented various M&E contractors on projects at Intel Ireland, Wyeth Medica and a large number of the major hospitals in Ireland, losses for a number of leading civil engineering contractors, including sub contractors and piling experts. He has considerable experience in construction losses and is conversant with all aspects of building contract law and conditions.

Michael joined the Irish National Insurance Company in 1979, working in general underwriting and claims. His experience as a loss adjuster began in 1986 when he joined Walter Hume & Co. (later Toplis & Harding), before moving to Aston and Associates as Sligo branch manager in 1996.

Michael joined ProAdjust in 2004 as a founding director, bringing his extensive experience in property, farm and liability claims to cement strong relationships with brokers and insurers in the Northwest.

Gerry began his working life as a quantity surveyor in 1983, joining the insurance claims industry five years later with Cunningham Hart, based in their Dublin offices but following major events, such as storms, earthquakes and terrorist explosions as they happened, as far afield as Sydney, Brighton, Glasgow and Belfast. In 1997 Gerry joined Aston and Associates, as a property adjuster working on commercial and household claims, before moving onto manage the Dublin office in 1999 and being invited onto the board of directors in 2000 and then joining ProAdjust in 2004 as a founding director.

Gerry’s major focus is in property claims and had dealt with a number of CAR claims for various building and civil engineering contractors, as well as specialist M&E and piling subcontractors. As a chartered surveyor Gerry brings considerable experience and a remarkable skill set to PP and building contract losses, having worked on several large loss assignments including severe earthquake losses in Australia.

Aidan graduated from University College Dublin in 1994 with a degree in engineering. After spending a brief period as a production and quality engineer, in 1995 he joined the insurance claims industry at Aston and Associates, being appointed manager of the Kilkenny office in 1999.

After moving to manage the Limerick operation in 2003 Aidan qualified as a chartered engineer before joining ProAdjust as a founding director in 2004.

His primary focus and experience is in property adjusting but he also has considerable experience in liability and engineering claims.

Jim trained with Stokes Kennedy Crowley (now KPMG) and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1985. Later the same year, he joined BDO Simpson Xavier (now BDO) as a manager and became a partner in 1987.

During his time with BDO Jim filled a number of roles ranging from Administration Partner to Client Service Partner with his final role being that of Chief Operating Officer for the practice.

In 2004 having helped to grow the practice from 2 partners and 15  staff to 35  partners and 350 staff Jim left to pursue a different career path and founded Donnelly Consulting advising a discrete number of organisation on a diverse range of topics.

One such organisation was ProAdjust where Jim was ultimately asked to join the company’s Board of Directors as Chairman.

In 2010 Jim took up the position of Finance Director with ProAdjust together with managing the company’s Business Interruption claims function and has successfully concluded a number of high profile BI claims in both Ireland and the UK.

Claire graduated from the University of Limerick with an honours degree in Risk Management & Insurance in 2007. She joined the Loss Adjusting industry that same year and spent three years working as a Loss Adjuster in the south of Ireland. Claire then immigrated to Australia where she worked with a major Loss Adjusting company for over five years in both Melbourne and Perth. Throughout Claire’s time in Australia, she was involved in a number of catastrophic events whereby she travelled throughout Australia for various major events.

Upon Claire’s return to Ireland, she joined a major Insurers and worked as part of the Claim’s Team taking on various important responsibilities within same. After almost two years, she then relocated to Limerick and joined the ProAdjust team in 2018. As the Quality Assurance Manager, she is dedicated to not only maintaining service standards but also to continuously seeking any available methods to improve same.

Joan’s experience within the insurance claims industry began in 1986 when she joined Aston and Associates as an administrator at their Kilkenny offices, becoming a loss adjuster in 2000 after she had passed the insurance institute examinations.

In 2004, when ProAdjust was formed, Joan moved to join the new company as a loss adjuster and taking up the role of quality assurance manager in 2008 when the company recognised that one was needed in order to continue to provide the high levels of service that they demanded.

As a chartered insurance practitioner with over 30 years of industry experience Joan was the ideal candidate to undertake the role of compliance manager in 2019 to ensure that all our customer interactions wholeheartedly embrace the spirit of the consumer protection code.

Paul began his career in the major projects division of a large, UK based, building contractor, having graduated with a diploma in quantity surveying from Limerick Institute of Technology and a degree in surveying from Herriot Watt University Edinburgh.

Several large projects in Newcastle, Edinburgh and Liverpool provided Paul with considerable knowledge and experience of construction which he brought back to his native Ireland where he continued with surveying before becoming interested in the insurance claims industry and joining one of the country’s leading companies where, over a 13 year period, he progressed from trainee loss adjuster to manager, regional manager, associate and director.

Paul joined ProAdjust in 2004 as a founding director and has considerable knowledge in all types of claims and specialises in property damage losses.

Mary B joined the ProAdjust loss adjusting team in 2009, having spent the previous 15 years working in logistics and general management, where she held various management positions within Nutricia Ireland and the Arvum Group.

With previous experience in the area of project management, she was appointed to manage a specialised project in collaboration with one of our major clients, which was a great success, in 2013.

With the ever increasing focus within the insurance industry on customer service and the importance of having someone dedicated to this role within ProAdjust, she was appointed Manager of Client Services in 2015.

Mitch’s background is in the information technology sector, having spent almost 15 years as a developer and consultant with large IT houses in Ireland and in his native New Zealand.

During that time Mitch gained significant experience in the insurance and finance industries through working with Allianz, Hibernian and Bank of Ireland. He moved into the insurance claims industry in 2001 with Aston & Associates and joined ProAdjust on its inception in 2004.

Mitch’s responsibilities within the organisation are for general operations and compliance, as well as being heavily involved in technology claims.

Mitch is also the company’s Data Protection Officer.
